Don't Count on Inheritances for Retirement

Over the years I have lost track of the number times a client proclaimed they will spend everything before it passes to their kids. Most of my clients will not “spend it all” because they live conservatively, seek out legal and financial advice from professionals and most importantly do not own boats. In all seriousness, it appears too many people have unrealistic notions on familial inheritance and their retirement.
